Whether you\u2019re out at dinner with friends, at the office, or enjoying an evening at home, your first reaction may be to panic when your veneer pops off. However, it\u2019s important to take a deep breath and get the process of getting the treatment you need in motion. The first step? Locate the veneer and place it in a plastic bag (or small container if you have one). If you can\u2019t find it, don\u2019t fret \u2013 your dentist can provide you with a replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do Call Your Dentist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From a veneer that\u2019s popped off to a toothache, your first call should always be to your dentist. When your veneer comes off, you may be tempted to remedy the situation on your own by using a household item, like superglue. However, not only will this damage your veneers, but using items with non-ADA-approved ingredients can wreak havoc on your oral health as well. Therefore, it\u2019s best to practice patience and wait for treatment from your dentist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do Exercise Caution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whether you have a few hours until your appointment or a couple of days, make sure to exercise caution when eating or drinking. It\u2019s natural to experience some sensitivity, so limit your consumption of hot and cold foods and beverages. You should also chew on the opposite side of your mouth since your tooth may be a bit weaker without the veneer to protect it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
